 i sat alone and watched the rain it felt like someone knew my pain the walls were quiet, the lights were low i had no place i had to go my phone was dead, my smile was fake i laughed at times just for their sake they passed me by, they called me strong but deep inside, they had it wrong

This World Is Nothing Oh fleeting world, thy glories turn to dust, The golden sun shall set, the stars shall fade, All vows of love do rot, betray their trust, And graves embrace the dreams that men once made. The laughter dies, yet echoes in the air, A broken song the wind forgets to keep, No heart is safe, for love is never fair, It gives a kiss, then leaves the soul to weep. I held a hand, it turned to ash too soon, I called a name, the silence gave reply, Like autumn leaves beneath a cold, pale moon, All things must fall, all things must say goodbye. A mother waits, but sons don’t turn around, A father speaks, yet no one seems to hear, The kindest souls lie buried underground, And none recall they ever once were near. O cruel world, what mercy do you show? You give a taste, then steal the final breath, We chase the light but drown in endless woe, For all we love shall find its home in death.
